Waking up refreshed, energized, with a positive mindset is a blessing in itself, that most take for granted. Battling depression, anxiety and mental imbalance for so long, I’ve learned to really appreciate mornings like these. Insomnia was taking over my ability to sleep, this causes more anxiety and feelings of being on edge.

Despite my circumstances I’ve learned to maintain a sense of joy and peace. Lately my job security doesn’t feel so secure. Beyond my 19 y/o son there is no one in my corner cheering me on, being supportive, or sharing wisdom. I’m in this transition of healing and rediscovering myself on my own.

On my quest for a non-medicinal solution, I found a variety of meditative sleep music tracks with delta waves on sound cloud that I can afford with no commercials. I also added positive affirmation tracks; after two nights of listening on a loop, I feel rested, confident and peaceful.

During this process I created a vision board of the dreams God has placed in my heart, positive affirmations and scriptures are everywhere,” I am a masterpiece”, “I am an overnight success in progress”, “I am a magnet for miracles”, “I walk in the strength of the lord.” Psalms 71:16. Renewing our minds to focus on positive things and achieving dreams is essential to our growth beyond pain, it’s our pathway to healing.

Faith is my anchor to life and a fountain of hope in my heart.
